Privacy Policy

Rorg is a household inventory app that helps you catalog items with AI-powered photo recognition, organize them into color-coded boxes, and find them by describing what you're looking for. Your privacy is fundamental to how we build Rorg. This policy explains how your data is handled.

Your inventory (places, boxes, items, their photos and details) is kept on your device and stored on Rorg's servers, so it syncs across your devices and powers search. This means:

• Your inventory is linked to an anonymous identifier that iCloud provides to Rorg. We never see your Apple Account email or name, and there is no account to create.
• Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our hosting provider, Cloudflare.
• We use your inventory only to run the app's features. We do not sell it, share it for advertising, or look at it except when needed to operate the service or comply with the law.
• If you aren't signed in to iCloud, Rorg uses a random identifier for your device instead. Your inventory is still backed up, and moves into your iCloud-linked inventory if you sign in later.

When you add an item with a photo, the photo is sent to Google Gemini, which suggests a name, a description, a value and a box. Rorg also uses Gemini to turn each item's photo and text into an embedding, a list of numbers that lets you search by meaning; embeddings are stored with your inventory. Search queries are processed the same way and are not stored on our servers. Google's API does not use your data for model training.

We collect usage data (e.g. feature adoption, error rates) and crash reports to improve the app, associated with the same anonymous identifier. We do not sell analytics data or use it for advertising.

Rorg does not access your location, contacts, microphone, health data, or browsing history. No advertising identifiers are used, and Rorg does not track you across apps or websites.

• Cloudflare — hosts Rorg's servers and stores your synced inventory and photos.
• Google Gemini — processes item photos and text for AI cataloging and search. Data is not used for training.
• Apple iCloud — provides the anonymous identifier that keeps your inventory yours across devices.
• RevenueCat — manages subscription status. No inventory data is shared.
• PostHog — app analytics and crash reports. No inventory data is shared.

Your inventory is kept until you delete it. Deleting an item, box or place removes it, and its photo, from our servers. Settings → Delete All Data permanently deletes your whole inventory and its photos from our servers and all your devices, including any copy earlier versions of Rorg kept in your iCloud account. Deleting the app only removes the copy on that device. You can also email us to have your data deleted.

Rorg is not directed at children under 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
